Antique French 1800s Rose & Yellow Gold Plated Floral Brooch
Antique French 1800s Rose & Yellow Gold Plated Floral Brooch
Antique French Brooch | 1800s Rose & Yellow Gold Plated Floral Brooch | Jewelry Lover Gift
Exquisite antique French rose & yellow gold plated floral brooch from the 19th century. The center of the brooch features a yellow gold open work with 3 flowers inside the rose gold oval of the brooch. The edge of the brooch has beautiful details. The closure is a typical Victorian C clasp.
The maker's mark is in a rectangular cartouche and has the letters C M with in between what looks like the profile of a person, and above letters that could spell "COMBE" or it could be numbers, 800 plus something but it is extremely difficult to read. 800 would refer to the purity of the gold.
Those small gold plated brooches were very popular in France in the 19th century. This one comes from Provence.
It is in very good antique condition with some slight signs of age at the back only.
A very unique piece for an antique lover or collector. A perfect "something old" for a wedding.
A delightful gift for a jewelry lover!
